The NJ-JCL's annual Certamen (Latin Knowledge Bowl) will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at McCosh 50, Princeton University in Princeton, NJ.
To register your school for this event, complete the entire online form and mail the registration fee with the "payment form" to Mr. Craig Jacobs, NJJCL State Chair. The online form must be completed by February 14, 2024.

Why do Certamen?
Join for the LearningCertamen questions cover a broad range of categories including Mythology, History, Grammar, Culture, and Literature.

Join for the Team SpiritCertamen teams are composed of four team members and an alternate. Team members must individually answer questions and then coordinate for bonus questions.

Join for the CompetitionThere are several levels of Certamen: Novice (for Latin 1/2 and 1), Intermediate (for Latin 2), and Advanced (for Latin 3 and above). The preliminary round is held at Princeton University to decide winners for the Northern, Central, and Southern region. After that, the final round is held at state convention for all 3 levels.
